Welcome to our blog for FSU's New Communications Technology Online Class! Danielle and I have very different views on how advancements in technology are effecting not only the future but more importantly our global society.
We've taken two genres of web content: "Entertainment," and "Communities," as they are described in Straubhaar & LaRose's Media Now and related them to five areas of Cairncross's "Trendspotter's Guide." We will examine theses genres and how they relate to the predicted media future and how that future will relate to society as a whole.
We will be examining:
- How accurate the trends are in describing current and upcoming developments in "Entertainment" or "Communities" genres
- If inapplicable where the trends fall short
- How they relate to the development of society and culture
